Waddesdon B.C. Tuesday 23rd June 2015
The Friends visited Waddesdon B.C. to help celebrate their 90th Anniversary.
The club is in the grounds of Waddesdon Manor set in rolling hills and woods and was a perfect setting with bright sunshine throughout the afternoon.
The green bowled perfectly and was a lovely pace.
Captain of the day Geoff Hunt and the Friends team were welcomed onto the green by club captain Dave Oxley and it was agreed to have a Spider before the match started and £35 was raised which the club donated to the Friends.
A very enjoyable and competitive match followed.
After a very nice tea Captain Dave welcomed the visitors and also explained his charity ‘ Dreamflight ‘ to provide trips to Florida for permanently disabled children.
In reply Geoff explained the functions of the Friends and their support to outdoor bowling and also the exclusive benefits to individual Friends members.
He congratulated the club on its setting and the caterers and greenkeeper.
He then presented a framed certificate in recognition of their visit for their celebration.
Finally the Friends requested that the ‘ Spider Money’ should be given to the Childrens Charity. Individual members of the Friends then made a personal donation to such a good cause.
Committee member Cyndy Lee, resting for the day took photographs to remember what was a lovely day
