Bitton Park B.C. Tuesday July 14th 2015
The second day of our sojourn to Devon. Very enjoyable.
Have you ever been to Bitton Park? It has a lovely setting uphill in a park
surrounded (not too close) by lovely trees and with a view looking over
the Teign Estuary and the bridge to Shaldon.
The welcome was good and lunch was tasty, fresh, plentiful and enjoyed by
the travellers. We met old friends and started being introduced to new friends.
Di Vodden, Bitton President and Adie Lloyd, Friends Captain of the Day
made short speeches on the green, the Friends gave out our celebratory pens
and play commenced. We had grey skies, but apart from a few spits we had no rain,
and it was warm.
At the finish of the game we were treated to an ample ham salad and new potatoes,
followed by fruit meringues with clotted cream.
Concluding speeches were given by Di, thanking us for coming, and by Adie, thanking them
for having us on their special day and congratulating Bitton on their 75th Anniversary.
Top rinks were called out and Adie gave out prizes. Bet you cannot guess what?………..
Hole punches. Knew you would not do it!
Thank you Bitton Park for a smashing day. Good luck with your bowling and your club.
We won over all but it was three rinks a side.
