Newton Abbot. Monday July 13th 2015
Friends from seven counties made their way to Devon for the first of two games on a “mini tour” to a beautiful part of the country.
Although it proved much easier to find the park that contained Newton Abbot BC than find a park for the car, we were warmly welcomed by Club President Ken and Captain of the Day David.
The club has excellent facilities and an enthusiastic membership, and an entertaining game was enjoyed by both teams, especially the Friends who managed to win by four rinks to two and overall by 32 shots. We all enjoyed the meal laid on by the Newton Abbot catering team and celebrated our win with the help of the bar staff!
A number of the Friends stayed overnight before the game in Teignmouth, and took the opportunity to explore Dawlish and Teignmouth after breakfast.
Thanks to Adie for arranging two games on successive days which made the trip to Devon worthwhile and most enjoyable.
