Friends v Suffolk Bowls (BE)

By | August 7, 2015

What a day at Hopton Bowls Club in Suffolk playing against a County Presidents team to help celebrate Bowls Suffolk 80th Anniversary. The day started off fine with the possibility of showers but as the day progressed we realised that the weather forecasters had got it wrong and the rain was here to stay.

A very competitive game ensued with many of the Friends team reacquainting themselves with their many friends in the Suffolk team.

Even the weather could not dampens the players spirits during the game, we lost overall but what a great day.

After the meal Suffolk President Stuart Pope gave us a potted history of their organisation and the speeches were rounded with Chris Leakes giving a talk about the Friends of English Bowls and its inception.

A great day was had by all.
