Tuesday September 22nd
We arrived to a very warm welcome from the members at Lockswood BC, Locks Heath, Southampton. The green ‘carpet’ looked in very good condition and the members had worked very hard on the borders surrounding the green. We were supplied with an excellent buffet before we attempted the challenge of the green and the rain. At 10 ends we were leading by 9 shots then things changed. The rinks that were winning well started to lose and the ones that were losing started the turn around. In the end we won 125-97 only losing on two rinks. We had 8 Counties represented, the furthest being Cornwall.
We were then supplied with an excellent meal. The captain for the day, Kay Kerley. was presented with flowers and a cheque for the’ Friends of English Bowling.’
