The Friends v Wroughton B.C.

Special Celebratory Match

After the match – still friends – the teams from Wroughton B.C. and the Friends

If you have never been to Wroughton Bowls Club, it is a special treat to find you park in a free car park and walk down the side of a building and there hidden behind is Wroughton Bowls Club.

We were all made very welcome and presented with a good ploughman’s lunch with lots to choose from and home made cream scones for afters.

We went outside for the match – and was it going to rain or not?  Did we need waterproofs or not?  anyway it drizzled and was damp, but the bowls was not dampened by the weather.

We were very friendly and we lost.  the score being 97 for and 110 against.

buffet on arrival.

After the game we were treated with a four course meal.  Hats off to Wroughton and hats thrown in the air.  President Phil gave a lovely speech in which he said it was one of the most enjoyable days he could remember.  Friends Captain of the Day Kath gave top rink prizes of homemade jam.  Very tasty 😋.
