The Friends of English Bowling travelled from nine different counties to Rosedale Bowls Club situated in Cheshunt, Herts. to celebrate the club’s centenary. They arrived in sunshine to a warm welcome and a lovey buffet lunch. Malcolm Thomas (Club Captain) began the game by welcoming us onto the green. The sun shone throughout the match, which was great especially as rain had been predicted!
The Friends took the victory, winning on 4 rinks and losing on 2. Our highest winning rink was Kath, Duncan, Jackie and Barrie, and the top rink for Rosedale was Wendy, Lillian, Ron and Ray. All were congratulated and duly awarded.
Following the traditional speeches Captain of the day for Friends, Jenny Ralph, happily presented the traditional framed certificate, as a reminder of our visit.
Thank you to the members of Rosedale who all worked hard to ensure that we had a wonderful day to celebrate their centenary.
