The Friends of English Bowling gives a unique opportunity for all bowlers to show their support for the sport of outdoor bowls, whilst enjoying member benefits.
Originally formed in 2005, the Friends give everyone who has taken part and enjoys bowls, the opportunity to give something back. Each member receives a lapel badge, regular newsletters, together with Bowls England News updates via the Friends of English Bowling Google Group.
Members may also participate in Friends’ bowls matches during the course of the season. This gives the members an opportunity to play in all parts of the country and enjoy meeting up with likeminded members from different parts of the country. There are usually games against Bowls England too, which are greatly enjoyed.
We also run a members’ Two Woods Pairs competition, which takes place during the National Championships at Leamington Spa, with cash prizes.
The Friends of English Bowling is the biggest supporter of the sport of outdoor bowls in England and uses its funds to back National Championships and Competition events, to support Disability Bowls England, assist youth development and support First Aid facilities. Over the years the Friends have been able to donate hundreds of thousands of pounds and hope to remain being able to do so.
